BIHAR ELECTION 2020 RESULTS: NITISH KUMAR TO BECOME THE CM AGAIN

The results of the Bihar State Elections 2020 were declared a few days back in which the NDA, let by BJP emerged out as the winner. The two chief parties of the alliance, BJP and JDU secured 74 votes and 43 votes respectively. BJP was the largest party in the alliance but Nitish Kumar, from JDU, was chosen to be the Chief Minister.

According to the sources, Sushil Kumar Modi, a senior BJP leader, has been appointed as the leader of the party and is most likely to be made the Deputy CM of Bihar. Tarkishore Prasad, an MLA from Katihar, was also appointed as the party leader in the state assembly.

Nitish Kumar will meet the State Governor Phagu Chauhan on Monday and claim the formation of the new government in Bihar. He will also take the oath as the new CM.

The speculations regarding the appointment of new deputy CM in Bihar is still prevalent. Anticipation regarding BJP choosing a candidate from their party are also prominent. As of now, Sushil Kumar Modi, who has served as a Deputy CM since 2005 is expected to retain his position. Sushil Modi and Nitish Kumar share a good relationship. 

Nitish Kumar and Sushil Kumar Modi had not contested in the elections this year. JDU also saw a decrease in the number of seats this year from 71 to 43. The largest single party in the Bihar Election was Tejaswi Yadav Led RJD who secured 75 seats. 

VETERAN BENGALI ACTOR SOUMITRA CHATTERJEE PASSES AWAY

The death of the iconic Bengali actor, Soumitra Chatterjee, left the film fraternity mourning and reminiscing his greatness. The actor was admitted to the hospital on October 6 2020, after being tested positive for COVID-19. On November 15 at 12:15 pm, he passed away at the age of 85 in the Belle Vue Clinic. 

Soumitra Chatterjee was one of the Bengal’s most celebrated veteran actors who had worked with Satyajit Ray in several art films. Recipient of several honors, he was also awarded the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, which is the highest honor in the film fraternity in India. 

Actors and stars expressed their sadness on various social media platforms after hearing the news. The Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamta Banerjee, also expressed her grief.

Soumitra Chatterjee and Satyajit Ray had worked in 14 feature art films and cherished a very close bond. Mr Chatterjee had once said that Mr. Ray was very possessive of him and shared a father-son relationship.

The demise of this legendary actor is being perceived as a great loss for the film fraternity.
