Uttarakhand to introduce Bhagavad Gita, Ramayan in schools

The Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana are two of the oldest literary works in the world, and they have been studied for millennia by Hindu scholars. They contain stories of love, war, redemption, and forgiveness. The two of the most important holy books of Hinduism, The Bhagwat Gita, and Ramayana, teach us about the importance of self-knowledge, the art of living, and finding one’s higher potential.

The Bhagavad Gita, also known as the Song of God, is a Hindu scripture. It was written by Vyasa, and it is one of the most important texts in Hinduism. It was originally written in Sanskrit, but today there are translations available in several languages including English. It contains teachings about selfless service and devotion to God. The Bhagavad Gita is considered by many Hindus to be a sacred text that represents the essence of Hinduism. It is a story about how we should behave toward others and ourselves when faced with difficult decisions or challenging circumstances

As per research conducted by How meditation can change your life, The Ramayan is another important text in Hinduism, which tells the story of prince Rama, who was exiled from his kingdom after being falsely accused of killing his wife’s brother. He then goes on an adventure that takes him through several kingdoms while he tries to find out who killed his wife’s brother and reclaim his throne. The story takes place in India thousands of years ago and has been retold many times throughout history.

Uttarakhand government has decided to introduce Bhagwat Gita and Ramayan in schools across the state as part of an Indian culture curriculum.

It is of paramount importance for man to have a sound and steadfast faith in his religion. For such faith can alone work out the completeness of his life, banish all fears, give him true happiness and peace, and enable him to attain immortality. Indeed, it has been said that he who lives without faith or religious faith is an incomplete man.

School is the best time to teach students the holy books like Bhagwat Gita and Ramayan. It is a great opportunity for children to learn lessons on devotion and piety. Developing a good character helps in shaping their personality as they grow up. It is also important that they remember these teachings as they cannot get them while they are studying at college.

Bhagvad Gita Vedas and Ramayana will be included in Uttarakhand school books - उत्तराखंड की स्कूल की किताबों में शामिल होंगे भगवद गीता, वेद और रामायण

“There is great literature on Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism which can enrich the mind of children. They are important from the point of view of being aware of one’s own identity,”

Uttarakhand government has come up with a new proposal to introduce the Bhagwat Gita and Ramayan in all schools of the state. The rich cultural heritage, including epics like the Mahabharata and Bhagwat Gita, is to be included in school education. They want them to be taught in a decade-long curriculum alongside religious texts like the Koran and the Bible. Uttarakhand has become the second state to make the announcement. Previously, the Gujarat government stated that Gita would be included in the state’s school curriculum. Karnataka is also thinking about incorporating the Bhagavad Gita and its teaching into the school curriculum.

One of the main reasons for this initiative is to make the courses more “attractive”, especially for students belonging to marginalized groups and scheduled castes. After an initial debate over whether or not these texts would promote religious biases, many are now adopting a more pragmatic view that it could improve “moral values” amongst students.

The decision to introduce Bhagwat Gita and Ramayana in Uttarakhand schools can have negative repercussions.

We should be careful while taking decisions that may cause rifts between people of different faiths. The move will also give rise to controversies as the state is already witnessing a lot of unrest due to religious differences.

The Supreme Court has already laid down guidelines for the teaching of religion in schools, which should not be violated. The court has said that any such teaching should be based on comparative religions and must not promote any particular religion.

If the government wants to teach about the teachings of Swami Vivekananda or Mahatma Gandhi, that would be acceptable but not by using religious texts like Bhagwat Gita and Ramayana.

There has been a lot of debate about the decision to introduce the Bhagwat Gita, Ramayana in Uttarakhand schools. The decision is being criticised by many who believe that it will harm children. The debate highlights how important it is for us to think about what we teach our children and the impact it could have on them. There are two ways of looking at this issue: one is the religious angle and the other is the educational angle.

Religion and education are both important aspects of our lives. But they should not be mixed as it can harm society.

In most cases, people tend to mix religion with education because they want their children to learn more about their religion instead of focusing on their studies or career goals.

If we look at it from a historical perspective, India is a country of many religions and cultures. We have been living together for centuries. The country has always been known as a land of tolerance and understanding. We have always respected each other’s faith and traditions.

In such a scenario, introducing Bhagwat Gita or Ramayana in the school curriculum will not only help students understand their religion better but also help them understand other religions as well. This will help them develop tolerance towards other people’s beliefs and traditions. It will also teach them about their religion more effectively as they can relate it to other faiths too easily now that they know more about them through these books.

The Uttarakhand government has recently taken a step in the right direction by introducing the Bhagwat Gita and the Ramayana in schools. Though this is a strong first step towards accepting our past and can help preserve our rich culture, certain elements need to be revised. The state should focus on the implementation of these measures rather than just the inception. It would also be helpful to focus on developing a curriculum or a specific program that will teach young students about not just Hindu texts, but all other religions as well. With steps such as these, we can ensure that our students will have an even more complete understanding of different cultural and religious practices and beliefs.
