Dusshera is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. According to Hindu mythology the human form of Lord Vishnu, ‘Ram’ killed the demon king ‘Ravana’ on the day of Dusshera. On this day the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkarana, and Meghnath are burnt. Ecoliers celebrated Dushera on the 3rd of October at the Asian School ground where a fete was organized to mark the celebrations of this auspicious day. Ecoliers were seen savoring ice- creams, and pizzas from the stalls and flaunting devil horn hair-bands on their heads. They swarmed over the gift stalls to buy gifts for family and friends. The most popular food stalls were KFC, Cocoberry and Pizza Hut. Girls bought little red balloons which they let off together before they boarded the bus back to school. We reached Ecole exhausted but happy with the sweet memories of the day etched in our minds.
