The inaugural UWS Youth Literature Festival, hosted by Unison World School, Dehradun, from 6th to 8th November 2025, was a vibrant three-day celebration of creativity, language, and imagination. Students from Ecole Globale International Girls’ School participated enthusiastically in various events, gaining invaluable literary exposure and inspiration.
The festival commenced with a soulful Ganesh Vandana, followed by an inspiring keynote by historian Ms. Roshen Dalal, and a powerful address by Ms. Indrani Pandhi, CMD of The Himachal Times Group. Students engaged in enriching sessions such as InkIgnite, a writers’ workshop by Mr. Kulbhushan Kain, and the Nine for the Novel storytelling challenge.
Day Two saw participants exploring diverse literary platforms. Gayatri and Aarna delved into thought-provoking book discussions with author Kartik Venkatesh, while Siya and Aishika showcased creativity in Besties Gupshup. All five participants also displayed their artistic flair in Bookstagram, creating visual tributes to fictional characters.
The final day featured the Narrativa interschool fest, highlighted by Dr. Sanjeev Chopra and Dr. Jyotsna Brar. Shivani Agrawal’s poem You Were My Poem Once earned high praise in the Young Pen: Big Stories session. The event concluded with a Cosplay Chronicles showcase and a heartfelt closing ceremony, marking a truly enriching literary journey for all participants.
