The Editor-in-Chief, Gayatri Kapoor, unveiled her magazine- on the 3rd of April during a special assembly held after breakfast. What began as an idea finally evolved into something far more material; an eccentric, thoughtfully curated publication that only just begins to scratch the surface of the vast spheres of cinema, music, literature, and art. It becomes a literal space for the thoughts we so often keep to ourselves while consuming media. The half-formed opinions, the lingering questions, the emotions we struggle to find an outlet for. It captures the words that stay with us long after a novel reaches its happily ever after, the dialogues that echo in our minds long after the credits have rolled, and a painful or scandalous story that lies beneath a beautiful painting- simply living rent free in our heads. As the first purely student-driven publication Ecole has seen, the magazine doesn’t just add to the school’s archives, it transforms them, it opens a door to a whole new world for the students and it’s a step towards a brighter future.
