At École, environmental sensitivity is deeply ingrained in every Ecolier’s mindset—fostered by the natural beauty that surrounds us and the school’s steadfast commitment to sustainable practices. From solar panels and rainwater harvesting to drip irrigation systems, sustainability is not just taught; it is lived. The Environment Club plays a key role in deepening this connection, constantly working to nurture awareness and responsibility among students.
In a remarkable step to further this mission, a team from Mission Clean Bharat, a dynamic local non-profit organization dedicated to making Dehradun a cleaner, litter-free city, was invited to campus. The session, held in the MPH, proved to be both enlightening and impactful for all attendees.
Led by the passionate and inspiring founder, Surabhi Singh Topwal, the session explored pressing environmental concerns with refreshing clarity and urgency. Topics such as plastic pollution, the environmental cost of fast fashion, sustainable living, composting, and everyday green habits were discussed in depth. Surabhi’s engaging style and deep knowledge struck a chord with students, making complex global issues feel personal and actionable.
What made the session truly special was its interactive nature. Students were encouraged to ask questions, reflect on their own lifestyles, and brainstorm practical solutions. This open dialogue not only sparked curiosity but also empowered students with the tools and motivation to become active stewards of the environment.
By the end of the session, there was a palpable sense of inspiration in the room. The Ecoliers walked away with a deeper understanding of their role in protecting the planet—and with real, practical ways to begin making a difference today. It was, without a doubt, a laudable initiative and a meaningful stride in École’s ongoing journey towards sustainability and conscious living.
