    EQ and IQ

On 11th July, as part of the Faculty Development Programme, Ms. Apoorva Thakur from Team Iris conducted an engaging session on the significance of Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Intelligence Quotient (IQ) in education. Held in the school library, the session aimed to help teachers understand how both EQ and IQ shape student learning, behavior, and overall development. Ms. Thakur explained the traditional role of IQ in academic success and emphasized that EQ comprising self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills is equally vital in today’s classrooms. Through case studies and interactive discussions, she demonstrated how EQ influences classroom management, conflict resolution, and student-teacher relationships. Teachers also learned how to identify emotional distress and apply EQ-based strategies to support students effectively. The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A, allowing teachers to clarify doubts and gain practical tips. Faculty members found the session highly relevant and valuable in fostering a more holistic, empathetic learning environment.
