Ten Ecoliers attended The Doon School Literature Festival, an annual celebration of literature, ideas, and meaningful dialogues on Wednesday, April 23. This year’s festival theme, ‘India Mapped in Words: Language, Writing, and Translation’, was an engaging exploration of language, culture, and the art of storytelling. A distinguished panel of writers and scholars which included Prof. Harish Trivedi, Prof. Nishat Zaidi, Dr. Sukrita Paul Kumar, Mr. Tanuj Solanki and Ms. Bijoya Sawian delved into these topics, providing insightful perspectives on the role of language in shaping India’s literary landscape and the world at large. Their discussion coverd various aspects of language, writing, and translation, addressing the complexities of communicating culture through words, the significance of translation in bridging linguistic divides, and the ever-evolving narrative of storytelling in contemporary India. The festival also featured a book exhibition which included works from prominent Japanese and Korean authors
