A group of twelve students from our school had the privilege of participating in Francofiesta’26, an interschool French cultural festival graciously hosted by Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun, on the 16th of April, 2026.
The festival presented a refined array of activities, affording students the opportunity to exhibit their talents with commendable zeal and accomplishment. Miss Rishiqa Dinesh took part in Paroles (poetry composition and recitation), rendering her piece with notable eloquence, poise, and artistic expression.
In the Concours Culinaire, our students, Pranya Agrawal and Kannan Bhatia, distinguished themselves by preparing an exquisite Spinach-Mushroom Crêpe with Fromage. Their culinary creation, remarkable for its harmony of flavours, finesse of technique, and elegance of presentation, surpassed that of seven competing teams and was duly awarded the First Prize. They attained the highest distinction across all parameters of evaluation, including taste and flavour, creativity in the recipe, culinary technique, plating and presentation, as well as the presentation of the dish in the French language.
Among the most edifying features of the occasion was the interactive workshop conducted by Professor Abhijit Karkun and Mrs. Anuradha Karkun. Their discourse proved both illuminating and engaging, offering a harmonious blend of linguistic insight and cultural appreciation.
This competition left an enduring impression upon the participants, fostering in them a heightened appreciation for the French language and its associated cultural heritage.
