The Foreign Language Department of Ecole successfully organised the French & Spanish Language Festival on 15 April 2026 in the Academic Block. The event was a vibrant celebration of culture, cuisine, and creativity, bringing together the rich traditions of France and Spain.
The programme commenced with a unique skull-shaped cake cutting ceremony by the Principal, inspired by the Spanish festival Día de los Muertos, setting a lively and festive tone for the day.
A variety of engaging activities followed, including a Spanish Fashion Show, which beautifully showcased traditional Spanish attire, and energetic Flamenco dance and music performances that captivated the audience. The performances created a magical and lively atmosphere in the Academic Block, truly reflecting the spirit of the festival.
Students enthusiastically participated in musical presentations, singing popular French songs such as Bonjour, Bonjour Comment ça va and Alouette. A French poetry session further highlighted their linguistic skills and confidence.
The culinary segment was equally delightful. Teachers were served delicious dishes including Spanish tacos and refreshing mango-based beverages, along with French croissants in flavours like chocolate, marmalade, and fromage. A dedicated croissant and crêpe tasting session added to the authentic cultural experience.
All teachers actively participated by adhering to the dress code, adding colour and authenticity to the event with floral Mexican accessories or French-themed black and white outfits with a touch of red.
Overall, the French & Spanish Festival was a grand success, filled with enthusiasm, cultural richness, and memorable experiences for all.
