On 12th July 2025, a POCSO and POSH Awareness Session was held at Ecole Globale’s Theatre Room as part of the Faculty Development Program. Led by Col. Alankar Bhardwaj from Team IRIS, the session aimed to sensitise academic, administrative, and pastoral staff on legal responsibilities under the POCSO (2012) and POSH (2013) Acts. Participants learned about child protection protocols, mandatory reporting, and the importance of establishing Child Protection Policies and School Complaints Committees. The session also detailed the procedures for managing workplace sexual harassment, including the formation and functioning of an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). Real-life case studies helped illustrate the serious consequences of non-compliance. Faculty members were reminded of their role as first responders and advocates for safe, empathetic environments. Through interactive Q&As, misconceptions were clarified and practical challenges addressed. The session concluded with actionable recommendations to ensure legal compliance, reinforce institutional safeguards, and promote a zero-tolerance culture toward abuse and harassment.
