Puberty Education Workshop
On 5th October, students from Grades V to XII came together for a Puberty Education Workshop by Stayfree India, conducted under the aegis of the National Council for School Safety.
The session provided a warm, open and reassuring environment where girls could voice their questions, share their concerns and develop a deeper understanding of the changes that naturally accompany adolescence. Through an engaging and interactive conversation, students explored puberty, hormonal changes, menarche, menstruation, ovulation and the menstrual cycle, while also learning about period preparedness, menstrual hygiene, appropriate sanitary products and tracking their cycles.
What made the session particularly meaningful was the openness with which the girls participated. Questions that may sometimes feel difficult or uncomfortable to ask were welcomed and addressed in a supportive environment. Students were also encouraged to seek guidance from trusted adults and school counsellors whenever they need reassurance or support.
The girls left with more than information. Awareness, preparedness and perhaps, most importantly, the reassurance that no question about growing up needs to be faced alone. After all, sometimes the most meaningful conversations begin with a simple question.
